Health & Safety
We want all guests to our Fete to go home safe and well, and we request that you act responsibly and follow health and safety instructions wherever they are given. Visitors enter the gardens at their own risk.
In a week when near record rainfall and winds were battering the village, we were delighted that yet again the sun shone through and we welcomed around 1,000 guests to our fete this year.
Nether Winchendon Fete provides a relaxed afternoon's entertainment for all ages in a quintessentially English country garden. It takes place on the second Saturday of June every year in the grounds of historic Nether Winchendon House.
People come from around the county to meet the friendly and welcoming villagers who run the Fete, enjoy a wide variety of classic Fete entertainment for all the family and pick up bargains and unique prizes from the many stalls and the Grand Raffle.
Described as the 'best country Fete in the county’ by Rt Hon John Bercow MP, the Fete has grown a reputation for wonderful teas, it’s plant sale, fun games and exhibitions, providing a great afternoon for children and plenty for the whole family to enjoy.
The Fete is organised by villagers on behalf of the Parish Council and proceeds from the Fete help the village to maintain our only community building, the wonderful St Nicholas Church, in addition to providing village funds for events and, increasingly, the upkeep of the village.
Here's a reminder of the timetable from the day:
We had lots of fun for all, including a bouncy castle, smasharama, splat the rat, Pimms tent, tea & cake, classic cars, live band, face painting, a tombola, a Grand Raffle Draw and much more.
New for 2019 were the three 'Special Prize Spins' for adults on the Wheel of Fortune, which all sold out early, with some incredible prizes worth £100's.
